Research at the LSE Middle East Centre focuses on the societies, economies, politics, and international relations of the region. The centre hosts over 30 research projects on diverse themes, drawing on LSE’s wide-ranging expertise in social science to promote innovative multidisciplinary research and understanding of the region.

XCEPT supported the delivery of nine research reports through this award. These included a report on the 2018-2020 Basra protests, changes in Iraq’s democratic system, and the social logics of protest in Iraq
