Salma Hassan is the Policy Uptake and Communications Manager for the XCEPT Programme at Chemonics UK. She leads the programme’s communications, engagement and policy uptake efforts, ensuring that research and evidence generated through XCEPT reach and influence policymakers, practitioners and other key stakeholders working on conflict and peacebuilding.
Salma has experience across international development, programme management and strategic communications. Before joining XCEPT, she worked with the Chemonics-led, OTI-funded Sudan Transition Programme, where she supported programme design and implementation in a rapidly evolving political context. Her professional background combines programme delivery with stakeholder engagement, knowledge management and communications, enabling her to bridge the gap between research, policy and practice.
Salma holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Marketing Management, bringing expertise in audience engagement, strategic communications and influence to her work in the international development sector.
