Conciliation Resources is an independent international organisation working with people involved in conflict to prevent violence and build peace, and providing advice, support and practical resources. We take what we learn to government decision-makers and others working to end conflict, to improve peacebuilding policies and practice worldwide. Through mediation support, dialogue, engaging with armed groups, dealing with the past – and with inclusivity at the heart of all of our work – Conciliation Resources ultimately aims to reduce violent conflict and create more peaceful societies.
As part of the XCEPT project, Conciliation Resources will work across Africa, from Nigeria’s eastern borders to the Horn of Africa. We will utilize our extensive and long-held networks of local experts as a means of better understanding the complex interplay between transhumance, climate change and violent conflict. Focusing on key border areas, and through mapping transhumance routes, key actors, and existing legislation, as well as patterns of violent conflict in African borderlands, Conciliation Resources’ will enhance understanding and more effectively inform policy and practice.
